1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is the Fundación Aprender sin Temer (Aprender sin Temer Foundation), a non-profit organization registered with Ecuador's Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion, MIES (Resolution No. MIES-CZ-5-2024-0019-R), tax ID (RUC) 0993392222001.
For any privacy question, email us at info@aprendersintemer.org or message us on WhatsApp at +593 99 851 8143.
2. What data we collect
We only collect the data you give us or that the site needs in order to work:
Contact form
Name, email address, subject and message.
Volunteer form
First name, last name, email address, area of interest and, if you write one, a message about yourself.
Donations
Bank transfer donations are made from your own bank, and PayPal donations are processed on PayPal's platform. Our site never receives or stores card details or banking passwords. If you send us your receipt by email or WhatsApp, we receive the information it shows (for example, name and amount) so we can record your gift and thank you.
WhatsApp and the site chat
The WhatsApp button and the quick-reply chat only open a WhatsApp conversation with a pre-written message. The site chat does not store what you type: the message is only sent if you send it from WhatsApp, a service owned by Meta.
Browsing data
If you accept it in the cookie notice, measurement tools such as Google Analytics (managed through Google Tag Manager) may record anonymous technical information: pages visited, device type, browser and approximate country.
3. How we use it
- To answer your messages and questions.
- To coordinate your participation as a volunteer.
- To record donations, thank you and, if you ask, issue a donation certificate.
- To tell you about campaigns and activities, only if you ask or agree to it.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
4. Legal basis
We process your data under Ecuador's Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP). The main basis is your consent, which you give when you send a form, write to us or accept optional cookies. For donations we also follow our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us or changing your cookie preferences.
5. Who we share it with
To run the site we rely on providers that may process data on our behalf:
- Hostinger: website hosting and delivery of form emails.
- Google: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (only with your consent) and Google Fonts.
- Meta (WhatsApp): when you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
- PayPal: when you choose to donate that way.
Each provider has its own privacy policy, and some may process data outside Ecuador. We may also share data if a competent authority requires it by law.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it to us for. Contact messages and volunteer applications are kept while we have an active relationship with you or until you ask us to delete them. Donation records are kept for the period required by Ecuador's accounting and tax rules.
8. Children and teenagers
We work with children and their families, but this site is not meant for minors to send us personal data. Forms should be filled out by adults.
If you are a parent or guardian and want us to remove a photo or any content showing your child, email info@aprendersintemer.org and we will remove it.
9. Your rights
Under the LOPDP you can ask us at any time for:
- Access: to know what data of yours we hold.
- Rectification: to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: to delete your data when it is no longer needed.
- Objection to, and suspension of, processing.
- Portability: to receive your data in a commonly used format.
To exercise them, email info@aprendersintemer.org with the subject "Data protection". We will reply within the time limits set by law. If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with Ecuador's Superintendency of Personal Data Protection.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The current version, with its update date, will always be published on this page. The Spanish version prevails in case of any discrepancy.
